The pattern for Føyka, then in a thick version, was first published in my first book, Wilderness Sweaters from 2019. The sweater is knitted in fantastic Norwegian wool from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. You can also knit it in Lettlopi if you want a more water-resistant version. Føyka mid-season is made for all seasons, but with special consideration for the spring and autumn mid-seasons.

Knitting tension
10 cm solid color stocking stitch on Pinne 4.5 mm = 18 stitches
10 cm pattern knit on Pinne 5 mm = 18 stitches
(The needle size given is only a guide. If you get more stitches than given in 10 cm, go up one needle size. If you get fewer stitches than given in 10 cm, go down one needle size).

Yarn : Luna, Vidde and/or Varde from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk

Yarn alternative : Lettlopi from Istex, Donegal + from Lang Yarns, Viking Wool from Vikinggarn.

(if you want lice: knit in the desired color, calculate about 50 grams extra).

Sticks:
Double pointed needles 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm
Circular needle 40 cm and 80 cm 3.5 mm, 4.5 mm and 5 mm

This sweater has a range of motion of between 5 and 10 cm. If you want a more oversized sweater, go up one size from what you usually wear.
