Arctic summer POLAR (digital recipe). The recipe for Arctic Summer was first published in my second book, Wilderness Sweaters from 2020. Now I've made a chunky version with a circular hem for colder days. The sweater is knitted in Alafosslopi, but you can also use other yarns such as Troll or Blåne.

The sweater is worked in the round, from the bottom up. Body and sleeves are worked separately before being joined together Pinne when the yoke is knitted. Arctic Summer Polar is a thick and comfortable sweater that can be knitted as a low or high neck sweater. Arctic Summer Polar should have a range of movement of between 10-15 cm. Measure around your chest and add 10-15 cm to the garment's width to find your size. Enjoy knitting!

Knitting gauge
10 cm plain stockinette stitch on Pinne 6 mm=13 stitches
10 cm pattern knit on Pinne 7 mm= 13 stitches
(The stated needle size is only a guide. If you get more stitches than stated on 10 cm, go up one needle size. If you end up with fewer stitches than stated on 10 cm, go down one needle size. Pay attention to the gauge on the pattern).

Yarn: Alafosslopi

Yarn options: Troll and/or Blåne fur wool yarn from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. These yarns are somewhat thinner than Alafosslopi, so you may need to increase the needle size by 0.5 mm from what is stated. Always knit a test swatch before you begin.
