The unique wool of Icelandic sheep:
Alasuq Polar is knitted in the Icelandic yarn Alafosslopi, known for its exceptional quality and weather resistance. The Icelandic sheep live outside in the harsh climate all year round, which gives them a special type of wool with both thick guard hairs and soft undercoat. This combination makes the yarn incredibly warm, durable and water-resistant - perfect for wilderness sweaters.

Knitting tension :
10 cm solid color stocking stitch on Pinne 6 mm=13 stitches
10 cm pattern knit on Pinne 7 mm = 13 stitches
(The stated needle size is only a guide. If you get more stitches than stated in 10 cm, go up one needle size. If you get fewer stitches than stated in 10 cm, go down one needle size. Pay attention to the knitting tension on the pattern).
Yarn: Alafosslopi
Yarn alternative: Troll and/or Blåne fur wool yarn from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk (100% Norwegian wool). These yarns are slightly thinner than Alafosslopi, so you may need to increase your needle size by 0.5 mm from the stated size. Always knit a swatch before you start.
You can also use Snorre from Vikinggarn, as a merino yarn, if you want an itch-free sweater.
