GAUGE
10 cm of plain stockinette stitch on 6.5 mm needles = 13 stitches
10 cm of colorwork on 7 mm needles = 13 stitches
Most knitters knit tighter when doing colorwork than when knitting plain stockinette. I have therefore included in the pattern that you should go up half a needle size when knitting colorwork. Gauge varies from person to person, so always knit a swatch before you begin.
