Moagenser polar (digital pattern)

I designed the Moagenser polar sweater with adventurer Moa Hundseid. We wanted to create something inspired by traditional Norwegian knitting and all the hardworking people who wore these garments. The checkered pattern has been knitted in countless variations over the years, and this is our version. The sweater is knitted in the round before cutting and sewing for the armholes and neck. The shoulders are knitted together before the sleeves are sewn in by hand. Then stitches are picked up along the neckline before the neckband is knitted. The Moagenser comes in a thin and a thick version for adults, and a thin version for children.Happy knitting!

Gauge: 10 cm of patterned stitch on 6.5 mm needles = 14 stitches.
(The stated needle size is only a guide. If you get more stitches than stated for 10 cm, go up one needle size. If you get fewer stitches than stated for 10 cm, go down one needle size).
