10 cm stockinette stitch with one colour on 6 mm needles = 14 stitches
10 cm colourwork on 6.5 mm needles = 14 stitches
Most people knit tighter when doing colourwork than when knitting plain stockinette stitch. I have therefore included in the pattern that you should go up half a needle size when knitting colourwork. Gauge varies from person to person, so always knit a swatch before you begin.
Yarn: Vams from Rauma.
Yarn alternative: Hipwool from HipKnitShop. This is a good alternative if you want a softer sweater that you don't necessarily need to move around in much. Hipwool is much denser than Vams, which means it breathes less.
