The pattern for Føyka, in a thick version, was first published in my first book, Villmarksgensere, in 2019. The sweater is knitted in fantastic Norwegian wool from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. You can also knit it in Lettlopi if you want a more water-resistant version. Føyka mid-season is designed for all seasons, but with a special focus on the transitional seasons of spring and autumn.

Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL)

Gauge
10 cm stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm needles = 18 stitches
10 cm colorwork on 5 mm needles = 18 stitches
(The given needle size is only a guide. If you get more stitches than stated per 10 cm, go up one needle size. If you get fewer stitches than stated per 10 cm, go down one needle size).

Yarn: Luna, Vidde, and/or Varde from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk

Yarn alternative: Lettlopi from Istex, Donegal + from Lang Yarns, Viking Wool from Vikinggarn.

Yarn amount
(if you want flecks: knit in desired color, calculate approx. 50 grams extra).
Main color: 350 (350) 400 (450) 550 (600) grams
Pattern color 1: 100 (100) 100 (150) 150 (150) grams
Pattern color 2: 50 (50) 50 (50) 100 (100) grams

Needles:
Double-pointed needles 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm
Circular needles 40 cm and 80 cm 3.5 mm, 4.5 mm and 5 mm

Sweater measurements XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL)
This sweater has a positive ease of between 5 and 10 cm. If you want a more oversized sweater, go up one size from what you usually wear.
