The Arctic Summer pattern was first published in my second book, Wilderness Sweaters, in 2020. I have now created a chunky, round-yoke version for colder days.

Arctic Summer POLAR (digital pattern). The pattern for Arctic Summer was first published in my second book, Villmarksgensere, in 2020. I have now created a thick version with a round yoke for colder days. The sweater is knitted in Alafosslopi, but you can easily use other yarns like Troll or Blåne.

The sweater is knitted in the round, from the bottom up. The body and sleeves are knitted separately before being joined on one needle when the yoke is to be knitted. Arctic Summer Polar is a thick and cozy sweater that can be knitted with a low or high neck. Arctic Summer Polar should have a positive ease of 10-15 cm. Measure around your bust and add 10-15 cm to the garment's circumference to find your size. Enjoy your knitting!

10 cm stockinette stitch with single color on 6 mm needles = 13 stitches
10 cm colorwork on 7 mm needles = 13 stitches
(The stated needle size is only a guide. If you get more stitches than stated for 10 cm, go up one needle size. If you get fewer stitches than stated for 10 cm, go down one needle size. Pay attention to the gauge for the colorwork).

Yarn: Alafosslopi

Yarn alternative: Troll and/or Blåne pelt wool yarn from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk. These yarns are slightly thinner than Alafosslopi, so you may need to increase the needle size by 0.5 mm from what is stated. Always knit a swatch before you begin.
