Gauge
10 cm stockinette stitch on 6 mm needles = 14 stitches
10 cm colorwork on 6.5 mm needles = 14 stitches

Most knitters knit tighter when doing colorwork than when knitting stockinette stitch. I have therefore included in the pattern that you should go up half a needle size when knitting colorwork. Gauge varies from person to person, so always knit a swatch before you begin.
