10 cm plain stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm needles = 18 stitches
10 cm pattern knitting on 5 mm needles = 18 stitches
10 cm in height = 24 rows
Most people knit tighter when knitting patterns than when knitting plain stockinette stitch. I have therefore included in the pattern that you should go up half a needle size when knitting patterns on the top of the sleeves and body, and on the yoke. Gauge varies from person to person, so always knit a swatch before you begin.

What is the difference between Luna, Vidde, and Varde from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk?
All three yarns are Norwegian-produced yarns made from 100% Norwegian wool. The yarns are made from wool from different Norwegian sheep breeds, which gives different expressions and feelings in the garment. You can easily combine them.
- Luna is made from 100% white lamb wool and is the softest of these three yarns. The colours are completely clear.
- Vidde is made from white lamb wool and grey pelt wool, which makes the colours variegated.
- Varde is made from 100% pelt wool from Norwegian pelt sheep. This is a variegated and lustrous yarn.
