The pattern for Nordkalotten, originally designed in a thicker version, was first published in my debut book Wilderness Sweaters in 2019. Now I have created a version in thinner yarn, which is more versatile for all seasons. Nordkalotten mid-season is designed for all seasons, but with special consideration for the transitional seasons of spring and autumn.

Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (XXL). Women/Men

Gauge
10 cm stockinette stitch with one color on 4.5 mm needles = 18 stitches
10 cm stranded knitting on 5 mm needles = 18 stitches
(The stated needle size is for guidance only. If you get more stitches than stated per 10 cm, go up one needle size. If you get fewer stitches than stated per 10 cm, go down one needle size).

Yarn: Luna, Vidde and/or Varde from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk

Yarn alternative: Lettlopi from Istex, Donegal + from Lang Yarns, Viking Wool from Vikinggarn.

(if you want lice pattern: calculate approx. 50 grams extra of pattern color 2 or desired color).

Needles:
Double-pointed needles 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm
Circular needles 40 and 80 cm 3.5 mm, 4.5 mm and 5 mm

This sweater has an ease of movement of between 5 and 10 cm. If you want a more oversized sweater, go up one size from what you usually wear.
