10 cm stockinette stitch with one color on 6 mm needles = 14 stitches
10 cm colorwork on 6.5 mm needles = 14 stitches
Most people knit tighter when doing colorwork than when knitting plain stockinette stitch with one color. Therefore, I have included in the pattern that you should go up half a needle size when knitting colorwork. Gauge varies from person to person, so always knit a swatch before you begin.
Yarn: Vams by Rauma.
Yarn alternative: Hipwool by HipKnitShop. This is a good alternative if you want a softer sweater that you don't necessarily need to move around in too much. Hipwool is much denser than Vams, which means it breathes less.
