Gauge
10 cm stockinette stitch in a single color on 6 mm needles = 13 stitches
10 cm colorwork on 7 mm needles = 13 stitches
(The needle size given is only a guide. If you get more stitches than stated per 10 cm, go up one needle size. If you get fewer stitches than stated per 10 cm, go down one needle size. Pay attention to the gauge of the colorwork).

Yarn: Alafosslopi
Yarn alternative: Troll and/or Blåne pelsullgarn from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk (100% Norwegian wool). These yarns are somewhat thinner than Alafosslopi, so you may need to increase the needle size by 0.5 mm from what is stated. Always knit a swatch before you begin.
You can also use Snorre from Vikinggarn, which is a merino yarn if you want a non-itchy sweater.
