Gauge
10 cm of plain stockinette stitch on 6 mm needles = 13 stitches
10 cm of pattern knitting on 7 mm needles = 13 stitches
(The stated needle size is for guidance only. If you get more stitches than stated per 10 cm, go up one needle size. If you get fewer stitches than stated per 10 cm, go down one needle size. Pay attention to the pattern gauge).

Yarn: Alafosslopi
Yarn alternative: Troll and/or Blåne pelt wool yarn from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk (100% Norwegian wool). These yarns are slightly thinner than Alafosslopi, so you may need to increase the needle size by 0.5 mm from what is stated. Always knit a swatch before you begin.
You can also use Snorre from Vikinggarn, which is a merino yarn, if you want a non-itchy sweater.
